Service Description

Language for Learning Lab is a small-group language enrichment program designed for students in grades 3–5 who are bright, capable learners but struggle with the language demands of the classroom. This program focuses on strengthening the language skills that support academic success, including listening comprehension, vocabulary, verbal expression, organization of ideas, and explaining thinking clearly. Through engaging activities, discussion, and guided practice, students learn how to use language more effectively to understand information, share ideas, and build confidence as learners. Language for Learning Lab is not therapy. It is an enrichment-based program created to support students who may not qualify for school-based services but would benefit from explicit language instruction in a supportive, small-group setting.

Upcoming Sessions

Cancellation Policy

Full payment is due at the time of booking to secure a child’s spot in a program. Enrollment is limited and spaces are reserved on a first-come, first-served basis once payment is received. Families who need to cancel enrollment must notify The Capable Collective at least one (1) week prior to the first scheduled session to receive a refund. Cancellations made less than one week prior to the program start date are non-refundable; however, payment may be applied toward a future program offering, pending availability. If a student is unable to attend a session due to illness or unforeseen circumstances, families must notify the Program Director at jillgrewal@capable-collective.org as soon as possible and no later than 15 minutes prior to the session start time. Missed sessions may be made up during a future program offering for the same week or theme, as space allows. Late notifications or no-shows may result in forfeiture of a make-up session. All required intake forms, waivers, and emergency contact information must be completed at least three (3) days prior to the start of the program. Students may not participate until all required documentation has been received. A parent, guardian, or designated caregiver must remain on site or within close proximity during sessions and be reachable by phone at all times. The Capable Collective provides enrichment programming and does not offer one-to-one childcare or supervision beyond the program structure. Families are expected to arrive promptly at session end times. A 5-minute grace period is provided. Late pick-ups may result in a $10 fee for every 10 minutes, payable prior to future participation. Repeated late pick-ups may result in removal from the program without refund. Students are expected to demonstrate respectful behavior toward peers, staff, and materials. If a student is unable to participate safely or appropriately, families may be contacted for early pick-up and continued concerns may result in dismissal without refund. Students must be fever-free for 24 hours and not actively ill to attend. Photo or video media may be used with parent/guardian permission, with an option to opt out. Programs are enrichment-based and are not a substitute for school-based services, outpatient therapy, or individualized clinical treatment. The Capable Collective reserves the right to modify or cancel programs due to unforeseen circumstances, with families notified and offered a refund or credit as appropriate.
